The Give Life Project

A project meant to showcase the stories of organ donations

The Project itself

This is a very meaningful project to me as it's centered around the beauty and struggle of organ transplants & donation stories through a series of intentional photographs and short videos. The Give Life Project is meant to give a safe space to those who have stories they'd like shared. Remember, these are cinematic storytelling sessions!

The sessions are donation based only and are fully self funded. Any donations made are split between ZoesHeart Photography and LifeBanc.

The sessions are selected through an application process. This process is so every person is granted my full attention to them, their story, and the retelling of it in a way that is all them. The sessions will take place outdoors in Lorain County.

You are encouraged to bring any sort of stuffed animals, comfort objects or people that may have helped you through your hospital days.

STEP 01

Submit an application

You can submit an application below. You'll need your name and email. I'll also ask you to share a little bit of info about yourself and a brief summary of the story you'd like to share. You can have donated or received any organ to participate in this project. If you know your  donor personally or have photos you're encouraged to bring them/those.

STEP 02

I'll reach out

I'll reach out to you once I have gone through your application. We'll settle on a date and I'll find a nice secluded location for us and go over the contract.

STEP 03

Shoot time

We'll meet up day of the shoot and work for about an hour and a half together doing photographs centered around you and any scars you'd like to share. We'll do some short videos of you and any friends/family you brought, along with a voice memo of the retelling of your story.

STEP 04

Delivering photos

Photos and a short video will be delivered to you in a digital gallery within 5 weeks of the session. I will write up a post with your photos and video clips for social medias and your photos will be added to The Give Life Project gallery/portfolio.

The WHY BEHIND THE PROJECT

When I was born I contracted a virus that didn't present itself (viral cardiomyopathy) until I was about six years old. When it got bad I was life flighted to Cleveland Clinic and my family was told I needed a transplant ASAP.

I got my heart transplant on December 2nd 2008. I have my moments where I wish I wasn't a sick kid all of the time but I'm learning every day to embrace who I am and find people who are like me. My business has given me a voice to talk about what it's like to be me and I want to offer that and so much more to so many people out there through this project.

Submit your application

This is where you can now submit your information and submit an application for me to review!
